Elwesii
Named after the British botanist Henry John Elwes, they are larger than Galanthus nivalis, flower earlier and have greyish green leaves.
Description Galanthus elwesii 'Don Armstrong' is a lovley poculiform (6 equal segments). It is a large snowdrop appearing earlier than most and is solid white in colour.
Description The third in Rainbow Farms ‘green goddess’ series. The outer segments are often strongly incurved giving them an almost quill-like appearance. The inner segments are mostly green. Named for the Greek goddess of the moon.
Description Galanthus elwesii 'Anglesey Aurora' was named more recently than 'Anglesey Orange Tip'. Its outer segments are somewhat broader enhancing the early apricot colouring.
Description Galanthus elwesii 'Beany' is a large early flowering snowdrop with a dash of green on the tips of its outer segments. It has a dark green mark on its inner segments.
Description Galanthus elwesii 'Godfrey Owen' was found in the Shropshire garden of Mrs Margaret Owen, near Shrewsbury, around 1996. It is a beautiful snowdrop with 6 outer and 6 inner segments.
